Special Issue on "Food and Bio-process Systems Modelling"

Guest Editors: Dr John Bronlund and Dr Ruili Wang (Massey University, New Zealand)

Processes in the food, dairy, meat, biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries are often complex and processing variables are highly interactive. Modelling provides a method for formalisation of soft knowledge of these systems. This in turn assists in developing process understanding, and optimal operation and control or design of these systems. This special issue is intended to present original research which demonstrates the value in applying mathematical modelling approaches to food and bio-process systems.

Subject Coverage
Possible food and bio-processing systems where the value of modelling could be demonstrated include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Processing operations
  • Food and pharmaceutical packaging
  • Predictive microbiology
  • Shelf life extension technologies
  • Biosensor design
  • Novel preservation technologies
  • Powder technology

  • Notes for Prospective Authors

All submissions will be anonymously evaluated by at least two reviewers, and a decision of selection for publication will be made based on the reviewers' recommendation. Only electronic submissions in PDF are acceptable for reviewing purposes, and final submission of those selected papers will be in the format required by the publisher ( http://www.inderscience.com/IJMIC).
