International Journal of Intelligent Defence Support Systems
Special Issue on: "Robotics and Intelligent Vehicles"
Guest Editors:
Dr. Howard Li, University of New Brunswick, Canada
Dr. Simon X. Yang, University of Guelph, Canada
There is a growing demand and interest in the sensing, perception and navigation control of robotics and Intelligent Vehicles (IVs), including Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs), Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), and Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs). IVs could be used in many areas, such as security guards, automatic inspection of power plants and refineries, the mining industry, hazardous chemical processing plants, ocean exploration, and to perform some of the hazardous jobs of military personnel.
Applications of IVs and robotics usually are related to situations involving hazardous environments, performing repetitive and menial tasks, performing tasks that would otherwise be impossible, improving the quality of life of citizens and society as a whole, and protecting the environment. This special issue will focus on applications of robotics, intelligent vehicles, and related research.
