Abstract: Quality function deployment (QFD) is a planning, problem-solving and customer-driven product design tool for translating customer requirements (CRs) into the design requirements (DRs) of a product. Customers' requirements play an important role in product's design and it is vital to incorporate the voice of the customers into importance rating of the customers' requirements. Producers try to know about customers' requirements to satisfy them. To tackle the vagueness or imprecision in QFD, fuzzy sets theory is used in QFD. A fuzzy mixed multiple attribute decision making approach is formulated to determine the fulfilment level of each design requirements for maximising the customer's satisfaction. Fuzzy AHP is used to weight the customers' requirements and fuzzy TOPSIS is used to rank the design requirements in house of quality. The application of fuzzy AHP-fuzzy TOPSIS approach is demonstrated in a case study of ceramic and tile industry in Iran.
