Secure network reconfiguration protocol using ARM7

Abstract: Wireless sensor networks (WSN) are recent area of research due to advancement in sensor technology, battery operated devices and low power systems. Major challenges in WSN are power consumption, security threads, coverage and lossless transmission. Remote reconfiguration is a process of updating new code, or image into the sensor node over-the-air without disturbing its physical location. Depending upon the application requirement, remote reconfiguration techniques are used to reprogram the sensor node in the same location. In this work, secure network reconfiguration protocol (SNRP) is proposed to reconfigure network address and network program using ARM7 LPC2129 and xbee series 2 transceiver. Network reconfiguration is performed by changing the personal area network address (PAN) from time to time and remote modification of the nodes functionality. Security is ensured in this proposed work by using a public key encryption. The timing analysis, power analysis is performed to estimate the efficiency of the proposed algorithm.
