Abstract: The application of value management as well as functional-and-value analysis is still at the development stage in the Russian economy. Our work analyses the application of these methods in the particular case of high-tech business incubators. We investigate and analyse the advantages that functional-and-value analysis provides for the R&D-intensive field, taking into account the economic and social motivations in the establishment of a business incubator, its organisation and interaction with internal and external components. In this context we also determine the importance of value management and value analysis in enhancing internationalisation of high-tech Russian enterprises. Finally, the evolution process of value management and functional-and-value analysis in the conditions of the idiosyncratic Russian economy is described and crucial factors of modern tendencies, such as greater efficiency but high risk aversion are highlighted.
