Comparing profit and non-profit sectors focused on continuing education and its impact evaluation

Abstract: The paper is focused on continuing professional education at both profit and non-profit organisations, namely on the evaluation of education programs at the fourth-level of Kirkpatrick's model. The background of the research consists of a relatively extensive search of relevant literature. The analysed dataset of 217 organisations operating in the Czech Republic was collected through an anonymous questionnaire distributed to the employees of analysed organisations (who graduated in the past from the University of Economics Prague). The data were analysed by multiple logistic regression and Pearson's chi-squared test of independence. The results show a statistically significant relationship between the evaluation of impacts and the existence of special education for managers. The novelty of the study lies in providing information on competencies and their perceived importance depending on the organisation type and employees job position. This information can be used to set up a more effective continuing education.
