Abstract: In this paper, we explore the cooperation over a modern wireless communication network, where we promote the communication between a pair of moving nodes, the source and the destination, to exchange information. We assume that fading constraints overrun this environment, so accordingly the direct link between the source and the destination nodes is not considered. Therefore, full-duplex (FD) relays cooperate with the source to send data packets to the destination. In this new generation of networks, the crucial issue for wireless devices is their limited battery capacity that impacts mainly the network lifetime. Note that this constraint becomes as important as when devices forward data to other terminals. Thus, with the aim of keeping a good compromise between the power consumption and the system performance, this paper studies an optimal relay selection to select one best relay to forward data to the destination based on Decode-and-Forward (DF) and Amplify-and-Forward (AF) relaying techniques. We derive the DF and AF outage probability closed form expressions and the AF numerical approximation for the relay selection strategy. For verification, simulation results are presented. We also perform an analysis of asymptotic results in order to evaluate the impact of the power transmission on the system performances.
