Abstract: In this paper, we have presented a survey based on the combination of spatial multiplexing and space time coding techniques under Rayleigh fading channel constraint in MIMO wireless communication systems. The decoding algorithms like Maximum Likelihood, V-BLAST and Sphere Decoder are analysed and their performance is evaluated using different orthogonal space-time block coding techniques, like quasi and rotated quasi-orthogonal space-time block codes. It has been observed that noise and interference get reduced by our proposed encoders with lower complexity at the receiver end. This improves the noise and interference performance by offering low complexity at the receiver. The paper also focuses on the performance of the combining effect of the demodulation algorithms with several other STBCs in the outcome.
