Abstract: This paper presents a control strategy for non-minimum phase systems using sliding mode control. As the discrete sliding mode control with input-output representation, with classical sliding function, is not applicable to non-minimum phase system, a generalised sliding surface was developed to overcome the problems of unstable zero. Then, a robustness analysis is conducted to determine the most appropriate choice of discrete sliding mode control for non-minimum phase systems. Simulation results prove the effectiveness of the proposed method.
