Poland's shared service industry as one of the fastest growing sectors of modern business services in Central Eastern Europe

Abstract: The article provides an overview of Polish shared service industry, as the area where international investors search for savings and quality improvement for their companies. First of all, the article discusses the pace of globalisation services and presents how the SSCs have been changing during the last 20 years. Furthermore, the trends in the direct foreign investments and their current shape on the international market are examined. The author's present current state of Poland shared service industry and compares this sector with other central and eastern European countries. Due to the analysis, the authors are able to outline these areas which are the most competitive, thus assigning a favoured position to Poland among other countries. Additionally, the information about major investment incentives, which have been included in the article, underline government grants, tax exemption, special economic zones and Polish labour legislation. In the last paragraph, the authors assess a current trend in Polish shared service industry.
