Abstract: The innovations in technology add to the need for an enhanced security scheme for network transmission and data transfer through different channels. Biometrics is used in many novel ways to satisfy real time implications. Confidentiality and authentication of image data transfer over a network can be assured by combining biometrics and cryptography effectively. This paper proposes iris-based secured crypto system in which the application of AES algorithm along with the iris biometrics, used as the key in the algorithm. Images can be sent by the user by combining with the iris template features which are converted to 128 bit each suitable for the algorithm. Low power and faster computation techniques are enabled to increase the integrity of this scheme. Statistical analysis and attacks are performed on the key and images to prove their randomness, uniqueness and higher security levels.
