Abstract: There are the issues of conflicts regarding water resources among the riparian countries. In this context, the Ganges River basin has been taken as a case study. Because of the unilateral withdrawal of Ganges water by India, Bangladesh is facing negatively induced socio-economic and environmental impacts. On the other hand, people from the affected area of Bangladesh crossing the porous border of India pose an issue of not less important than the problems caused in Bangladesh by the water diversion of Farakka barrage.
