Problems and practicalities of technology transfer: a survey of the literature

Abstract: Based upon a survey of the literature, the paper reports factors thought and shown empirically to influence the transfer of technology. Selected factors are discussed at length and placed in their historical, legal and socio-political contexts as appropriate. A summary of all the factors is presented, and these are divided into those fostering and those hindering technology transfer.
