Abstract: The paper introduces an automated system to capture and process satellite communication data. The system addresses the challenge of frequent manual intervention required with open-source software for satellite communication. The system retrieves data from publicly available websites, captures satellite signals using a Realtek software defined radio (RTL-SDR) device, and incorporates features to compensate for signal variations and for user-friendly data retrieval. The authors acknowledge limitations due to internet connectivity, equipment, and space requirements. Overall, the findings demonstrate the feasibility of automation in satellite communication, reducing manual work and improving data quality. This can lead to further advancements in the field. The research also highlights methods to mitigate the Doppler effect, a challenge in satellite reception.
