Special Issue on: "Change Management in the Big Data Era"

Guest Editors:
Dr. Jim Q. Chen and Dr. Susantha Herath, St. Cloud State University, USA

The massive accumulation of information known as big data – 2.5 quintillion bytes of data are created every day – has brought benefits and competitive advantages to many businesses. However, it has also presented new challenges in technology, management and social issues.

Big data calls for new models, data standards and data infrastructure and advanced business analytics tools. It also calls for new change management theory and practice dealing with increased security risks and privacy issues.

The special issue welcomes a multidisciplinary approach to change management from fields ranging from psychology, behaviour science, management science and decision sciences to information systems and computer science. Preference will be given to high-quality papers that have a firm grounding in scientific and theoretical foundations. Case study research is acceptable, although theoretical papers that bridge the gap between theory and practice are most welcome.
