This Special Issue aims to explore how better performance and effectiveness in organisations is achieved through a better understanding and fostering of social capital. It will bring to the attention of readers recent developments in theory, theoretical frameworks and measurements of social capital. It will also explore the most recent empirical advances in social capital applied to intra–organisational contexts, and the development of social capital through inter–organisational systems consisting of corporates, NGOs, government and other sectors.
