Abstract/Summary: Study programs at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Maribor, Slovenia, request practical placements in industry. The length of the placement depends on the type of the study program and is for the program of the professional higher education for the engineer technician degree 6 month. Time (in part) and place of placement are student free decision. Either student is organizing the placement in the country or abroad. Program of the European Union (EU) Leonardo da Vinci enables and supports students and young graduates to go abroad for the placement or first employment. This we are calling mobility. Organizational, mobility is running smoothly, but we are trying to find common way for evaluation, understanding of different environments and cultures as well as habits and industrial culture in companies. In the paper some of those problems are presented through the EU Leonardo da Vinci pilot project ValeurTech in which 35 partners have been active at the Universities, Institutes, Companies and Chambers of Commerce through 8 European countries - Belgian, France, Finland, Greece, Portugal, Rumania, Slovenia and UK. The project was a three year project. Final goals have to result in e-learning and web available modules to help students, teachers and industrial people by organising placements and employments mobility of engineer technician in different EU countries as well as outside EU. Additionally, collected data for the country (Slovenia) have been saved in the simple database and are available also for other research purposes.
