Abstract/Summary: The monitoring system hardware structure based on the DAM6416P image processing platform is designed. To achieve the pretreatment of the image and the detection, extraction and track of the moving objects respectively, median filter, optical flow, edge segmentation method based on the gradient operator, and gate centroid tracking method are adopted. This system based on the DSP technology, which ensures the complicated arithmetic could be realized efficiently and instantly. The validity and veracity of these methods mentioned in the paper have been validated in many experiments done by us.
