International Journal of Continuing Engineering Education and Life-Long Learning
Special Issue on: "Design, Implementation and Facilitation of Blended Learning"
Guest Editor:
Dr. Wang Qiyun, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore
Covid-19 has changed our daily lives and learning activities tremendously. Many teachers who never used technology in course delivery before had to teach and facilitate learning online during the school closure period caused by the pandemic. As a result, blended learning, which integrates face-to-face and online learning, is increasingly becoming a new norm in schools and universities. It not only provides convenience and flexibility for students and teachers, but also offers great potential for engaging students and improving learning outcomes. Therefore, how to effectively design, implement and facilitate blended learning has become an essential competency for teachers. However, simply blending online learning with face-to-face teaching does not guarantee better learning outcomes, and deliberate design, implementation and facilitation are crucial.
This special issue aims to collect good examples of blended learning during the pandemic, and to publish research papers, case studies, conceptual papers and literature reviews about blended learning to guide school teachers and university faculties in effective design, implementation and facilitation of blended learning environments.
