Abstract: In the current scenario responsibility of the system administrator is to have a secured system is a challenging task. Iris recognition is proven to provide unique biometric data, very difficult in duplication. Exudate is one of the disorders that occur in the retinal part of eye. Exudate is an earliest and most prevalent symptom of diseases leading to blindness such as diabetic retinopathy and wet macular degeneration. Proposed work is to examine the effect of exudate present on iris and leads to improve the level of security or used to match the unmatched person due to the structural and textural changes of iris. Hough Transform (HT) is employed to identify the unique features in iris. STARE database is used for performance analysis of iris recognition system. Proposed system shows that structural changes and quality degradations are observed in exudate image, may lead to iris recognition system fail, re-enrolment is essential.
