Abstract: This paper investigates a methodology for the optimisation of the electrochemical machining parameters on micro holing of Al6061+ (6wt % SiC + 4wt % Gr) hybrid composites. The analysis of variance and Taguchi methodology (L27 orthogonal array) are used to study the influence of ECMM machining parameters such as frequency, machining voltage, electrolyte concentration, on the MRR and OC. In this present work Al6061 is taken as main matrix material combined with silicon carbide and graphite of size 15-30 μm. Composite materials Al6061 + 6wt % SiC, Al6061+ 4wt % Gr and hybrid composite material Al6061 + (6wt % SiC + 4wt % Gr) is achieved by a stir casting method. The ductility and strength of this material was increased by using stir casting method with combined SiC. The microstructure of this system reveals the distribution of SiC and Gr in the matrix system.
