Abstract: The recent technological advances in digital electronic and robotics manufacturing have enabled the evolvement of sensors to an upper level. Sensor nodes can be changing their locations according to the zone of coverage. The overall set of scattered sensor nodes forms a particular type of wireless communication networks, named mobile wireless sensor networks. This type of wireless networks is widely used in many applications including environmental, healthcare and military applications. The mobility constraint when added to a communication process brings in a number of challenges. The reliability constitutes a major problematic to take into account. In this paper, we proposed a new technique to enhance the performance of cluster-based routing protocol for MWSNs. A probabilistic approach is used to balance the reconfiguration frequency of cluster forming for data transmission within a mobile environment. The results proved the efficiency of our technique, as it increased the performance of cluster-based routing protocols in terms of energy consumption, end-to-end delay and throughput.
