Abstract: This short paper aims to consider and stimulate discussions about the professor's evaluation model in the Brazilian universities. Brazilian educational institutions are increasingly requiring authorship (or co-authorship) of research publications for favourable career advancement decisions. The publication interest began when the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) started to push scholars for more publications. Although there are some mishaps in this process, as presented in the study, the most important things is that intellectual work of scientific production should follow an essentially artisanal logic and ethics, instead of the Taylorist production for better results.
Keywords: Brazil; publication; co-authoring; ethics.
