Abstract: Recycling is alive and well in many industrial sectors. This article addresses worn or wasted tyres and evaluates the extensive recycling already achieved. This study addresses the efforts of the State of California and the US Army Corps of Engineers to stimulate tyre recycling, demonstrating the public sector commitment currently necessary. Albeit, private markets are on the verge of commercial viability at the same time they accomplish a significant diversion from landfills.
