Abstract: The integration of CAD into the virtual environment is very important and essential technology to evaluate the virtual product property and to understand the assembly processes. Similar product evaluation and assembly evaluation were done by different researchers mainly focusing on the virtual product's behaviour and properties. In this paper, both virtual product's behaviour and the usability of the device used for product evaluation have been evaluated. During this process, it was observed that the usability of the device (PHANToM Omni™) stylus was causing pain and discomforting during weight perception of the virtual product. To nullify the discomfort, four different styluses based on the standard gripping diameter and pressing button were proposed; among these four, two were selected through heuristic evaluation and compared with the existing stylus. Final results showed that the participants preferred the modified stylus compared to the existing stylus.
