Abstract: Tyre model parameter identification is essential for its applications. Due to the costly and lengthy tyre model parameterisation tests, it is highly interesting to determine the necessary types of tests just enough to accurately identify all parameters. Among various types of laboratory tests, the standstill tyre load-deflection measurement may be the easiest and cheapest one for all kinds of tyres. This paper thus focuses on investigating how many tyre model parameters can be accurately identified only using the static load-deflection data, where the newly developed tyre model is based on in-plane flexible ring approach and the load-deflection target data are derived from the commercially available FTire model with ADAMS software. The paper further discusses whether the identification results can be improved by considering the length of the tyre/road contact patch. The tyre model parameter sensitivities to the static tyre-load deflection data are finally addressed.
