Abstract: Froth images of coal flotation acquired in the actual production belong to the objective evaluation of non-reference since there are original ideal images for reference. In order to evaluate de-noising effect after the morphological open and close with reconstruction filtering by different structural elements, a de-noising evaluation method by improved information capacity based on grey level co-occurrence matrix is presented in this paper to solve evaluation of no reference images. Simulation results show that the de-noising evaluation by improved information capacity is simple, convenient, and quantified so as to execute automatically by programmes. More important, the evaluation is consistent with visual effect of people for image and can accurately reflect the effect of de-noising of froth images.
