Abstract: Today, robot systems are the necessity of industries. The robot can be defined as a complex and critical machine that does the work of many persons at one time that's why it saves people from many accidents in industry. Robots have performed all the tasks which humans don't do, or unable to do due to size limitations, or even those in outer space or at the bottom of the sea, where humans could not survive. The branch of technology that deals with this type of application is known as Robotics. This proposed work through a systematic review of robot systems presents a mathematical model for the investigation of performance with the help of its reliability characteristics such as availability, reliability, mean time to failure and cost analysis. The mathematical model for the robot system has been formulated with the application of Markov process, Laplace transformation and inverse Laplace transformation.
