Abstract: Wireless sensor network (WSN) comprises a large number of sensor nodes (SN) in which each node can sense, process, store and transmit/receive the data from the external environment. Computation rate, communication range, power is most important constraints of the SN. A SN in the bounded region forward the data among the nodes, and then finally it reaches the base station [sink node (SiN)]. Number of nodes tries to communicate with a SiN at the same time; leads to consume more power also increase the network traffic results in data loss and reduce the node lifetime. In this paper, mobile relay node (MRN) is developed using LPC2148 processor and introduced into WSN. It moves throughout the network for collecting data. An optimal algorithm is developed and to optimise the data communication, re-routing the traffic and reduce power consumption of each SN. In this work, power consumption, processing time and memory analysis of MRN is discussed.
