Title: Genomic instability at exposure of low dose radiation with low LET. Mythical mechanism of unproved carcinogenic effects

Abstract: There is standard statement that radiation-induced genomic instability (RIGI) can induced by any doses of any radiation irrespective of LET. To this phenomenon the role of unique mechanism of carcinogenesis induction by X- and γ-rays in low doses is attributed. In the review is analysed more 260 sources concerned to the induction of RIGI by X- and γ-rays at all levels of biological organisation and at all methodical approaches including the bystander effect and hereditary effects. Except for irradiation in utero is not found out any unequivocally treated facts of RIGI induction at irradiation in low doses (up to 0.2 Gy). It was revealed six |apparent exceptions|, but in all cases defective or unusual objects took place. The data of Dubrova et al. for germline mutations at DNA minisatellites loci for the people living on polluted after Chernobyl incident territories are difficult for correct interpretation. Connected with RIGI mechanism of virtual carcinogenesis for low doses of radiation with low LET has appeared a mythical mechanism.
