Abstract: The work presented in this paper concerns with analysis and synthesis of the two-dimensional (2D) digital systems based on model order reduction, and application to the 2D digital filters. The synthesis of the 2D systems is performed with the semi-definite iterative programming (SDP) method, in the frequency domain. After the synthesis, we make an order reduction of the synthesised model by the quasi-Gramians method. From several results and their interpretations, the 2D filter synthesised by the model reduction proposed method, present advantages compared to the conventional direct synthesised filters.
