Abstract: This research aims to construct knowledge on the role of knowledge management, it elaborates the development dynamics of small and medium enterprise (SME) of the Chinese descendant in Indonesia. This paper attempts to develop a theoretical understanding of how the knowledge transfer process as part of knowledge management on the SME among Chinese descendant community is explained by the relationship between Confucianism ethic, Guanxi, acculturation, and knowledge transfer. In a field survey of 139 owner of the SME, we found that the integration of Confucianism ethic in the social life of the Chinese descendant community has shaped a particular organisation pattern, that creates very unique partnership relationship what is so called as Guanxi; also, the acculturation process will generate an integration pattern, that will become the mediating bridge to create efficiency and effectiveness in the process of knowledge transfer.
