Abstract: The performance of self-excited induction generator can be analysed by applying switching operations in terms of variation in load resistance, excitation capacitance and rotor speed on steady state and transient models of self-excited induction generator. To investigate the effects of these switching variations, models are simulated in Matlab/Simulink and results hence obtained are validated experimentally on two test machines. The effect of disturbance due to these switching operations, on performance of machine is also discussed in this paper, which will be helpful to the researchers in designing various controllers both for transient state and steady state of same machine.
