Abstract: Over recent years in various ways errors in environmental measurements have been criticised and large amounts of money wasted. It therefore becomes ever more necessary to increase the culture of the rigorous experimental measurement and handling of data. This is particularly important in fields such as our environment and our cultural heritage so closely connected to our life and our health.
Keywords: cultural heritage; environment; environmental quality; measurement quality; metrology; restoration; uncertainty; environmental measurements; data handling; calibration; quality control; human health.
