Abstract: Quality function deployment (QFD) is an efficient and powerful tool in the design, development and planning of products. The main function of QFD is conversion of voice of customer (VOC) to engineering characteristics (ECs). However, it is not always easy to prioritise and assess ECs during the interactions between different customer requirements (CRs) and production necessities. So, it seems too important to develop a robust model for analysing QFD due to make it easier for engineers and design team to choose between ECs in order to improve the quality of products. This paper provides a methodology to capture information through QFD. The paper is composed of the background of QFD, review of related research works, and representation of a system for analysing it in two phases with consideration of customer attitudes and engineering prefers concurrently. The paper applied the proposed methodology on the case study of the car sun shade and presented the results.
