Abstract: In this paper, we consider a time dependent state variable model for software testing process based on the theory of feedback control and state variables. The model incorporates time dependency and can be used to predict an estimate of the remaining defects in software. The model consists of a singular differential equation and usual numerical method is refined to resolve computations thereon. The model is developed to demonstrate the applicability of the software development process and is useful in computing the effort required to reduce the number of defects. Computational results are provided to illustrate the applicability of the model using parallel alternating group explicit solver.
