Abstract: The Six Sigma methodology has been successfully implemented in many organisations across the globe. Though the origin of Six Sigma acknowledges manufacturing industry, it has been a successful organisational strategy across service sector for more than a decade. However, the implementation and success of Six Sigma has not been established to a great extent in educational institutions. Specifically, higher education providers have a greater scope of implementing Six Sigma for various reasons (discussed in the literature review). This paper aims at understanding the higher education industry for scope and benefit of implementing Six Sigma. A Six Sigma implementation model has been proposed as part of the paper for higher education providers. Involvement of student teams for the Six Sigma deployment is the highlight of the proposed model. The paper concludes with the benefits of the proposed model.
