Abstract: One of the main focuses on healthcare systems is to increase treatment quality and the development of a fully automated healthcare system, without intervention from domain experts and IT people. In this paper, we propose a framework that performs rule-based healthcare system (RBHS). In the first step, with the use of classification algorithms the decision rules are generated. Then the rule engine executes the generated decision rules and provides the proper diagnostic message. In the next step, the system reason over the semantic web rule language (SWRL)-based rules and gives the treatment adaptation result based on the diagnosis. During execution the treatment adaptation scheme is personalised. We use a rule-based system for diabetes as an example to illustrate how the RBHS system works. In addition to that we construct diet ontology for diabetic and non-diabetic users.
