Abstract: Corporate governance and board research has to date provided a multitude of studies, findings, and data and, hence, made some important contributions to the field of management and organisational behaviour. Nevertheless, relatively little has been said about the topics and aspects that have remained underestimated, neglected, or unexplored in this field. Accordingly, this paper takes a somewhat critical position by questioning such 'blind spots'. Moreover, it reflects on potential opportunities and challenges for further research that may enrich our knowledge and understanding of corporate governance and board phenomena.
Keywords: corporate governance; board research; theoretical approaches; methods; actors; deficits; boards of directors.
