Abstract: As dairies involve in the collecting, transporting, processing and distributing milk and milk products, its value chain is different as well as challenging from the value chain of other manufacturing organisations. Other aspects which make the value chain of cooperative dairies more cumbersome, complex and non-productive are temperature of ambiance of Gujarat throughout the year, perishable nature of milk and all most uneducated rural milk producers therefore the purpose of this paper is to identify key success factors for such a challenging value chain of cooperative dairies. With the exploratory research design and convenience sampling method various managers and senior officers of cooperative dairies of Gujarat state have been surveyed. A total 15 factors are the key success factors for the value chain of cooperative dairies in Gujarat. Extracted key success factors should be incorporated by cooperative dairies in their routine service packages. By implementing these factors dairies in turn can increase the efficiency of the entire cooperative dairy value chain.
