Abstract: A brief introduction to computer integrated manufacturing is given. The different components of computer integrated manufacturing, where they are located, and their availability to the business are discussed. In addition, we examine why companies do not automate and discuss the reasons why a company should implement CIM. Several strategies businesses can take to integrate computers into their company are also discussed. Finally, we examine several actual cases of CIM implementation.
