Abstract: To determine the life expectancy of vehicles, the following steps are necessary: examination of the pay-load statistics; analysis of the speed distributions; determination of the road quality distributions; analysis of the traffic conditions and operating modes; connections between pay-load, speed and road type. Our report deals with the statistical treatment of these operating parameters based on the off-line data-collecting computer system that is currently being used by the Budapest Transport Company (BKV).
