Abstract: The present study examines the socio-economic impact of tourism entrepreneurship in Puducherry as regards the profile of tourism entrepreneurship, the impact of tourism in the prevailing commercial environment, tourism business structure, opportunities vis-á-vis the city status and fast-paced growth of Puducherry, and the perceptional extent to which tourism entrepreneurship have addressed the socio-economic development goals of Puducherry. Descriptive method of research is used in this study. Questionnaire and personal interview method was adopted to collect primary data from the respondents. The data was analysed by using non-parametric statistics. Entrepreneurs' views with respect to the fulfilment of socioeconomic goals set in a phased fashion for Puducherry have drawn mixed responses. The expansion of tourism entrepreneurship in Puducherry as a result of the industry catapulting to greater heights coupled with neo tourism avenues gaining immense coinage are found to be at the crux as the main determinants for the quality of living parameters receiving tremendous boost.
