Abstract: The primary finding of this research is that an online-advice community is an emergent system resulting from the synthesis of three basic processes: schema formation, schema sharing, and schema gathering. I end by showing how knowledge of these processes allows the transformation of advice communities into higher-level information systems like autonomous businesses.
