Abstract: Measurement system analysis (MSA) is an indispensable part of manufacturing processes. However, performing MSA manually for attribute data involves humongous effort. This paper makes an attempt to perform the computer-aided measurement system analysis (CMSA) of attribute data using the statistical tool - analysis of variance (ANOVA). The case of refrigerator liners manufactured has been taken for the purpose of the investigation. Currently, the plant does not perform any MSA, which makes it difficult to know any cause of variation owing to the measuring system adopted. The gage repeatability and reproducibility (gage R & R) analysis using ANOVA is performed to understand and find whether variations in the measuring system are within the acceptable limits and do not deviate significantly. The analysis would help to infer that the measurement system is proficient enough to measure the production data.
