Abstract: This exploratory study relies on the evolving body of literature stating the impact of chaos theory on management philosophy. Thus, the researcher affirms BÜlbÜl and ErÇetin (2010) statement "chaos theory will be the topic investigated in the future more". In today's changing environment, a high degree of uncertainty exists. Yet, it is suggested that applying the chaos theory principles will provide a better understanding of how to manage in a turbulent environment and will lay the foundation for education managers to abandon linear thinking and rethink chaos metaphor as means to define and manage key building blocks of educational organisations.

Keywords: decision making; education management; chaos theory; complexity; systems; initial conditions; strange attractors; educational organisations.
