Abstract: This paper suggests an estimation technique for the scale parameter (β) and the reliability function (R(t)) in right censored data from the two-parameter Weibull model. Four different versions of the preliminary test shrinkage estimator are considered when a prior estimate of the scale parameter is given. Numerical computations for the bias and the relative efficiency are given to judge the advantages of the suggested estimators over the classical and similar estimators.
