Title: Developing an international corporate tax structure: the tale of a French biotech startup

Abstract: Argogen biotech SA was created in France in December 1999. During a ||strategy|| brainstorming session, the management team realised the need for international expansion. This report analysis the work performed by the firm|s International Development Task Force. It discusses the circumstances surrounding the formation of the task force, critiques its work, examines the various alternatives presented to the firm, details the actual expansion of the firm into the USA; and, as a closing comment, suggests a ||model|| whereby companies considering international expansion can develop a personalised plan for minimising the group|s total tax burden while still satisfying the firm|s strategic objectives.
