Abstract: Exergy equilibrium equations have been developed for the calculation of exergy analysis by choosing black, white and grey box models respectively in accordance with different requirements of cursory, elaborate and subordinate elaborate analyses. In order to improve the operability of the 'three box' exergy analysis method, a program of ranked search and optimised multi-level operation for complicated production systems has been brought out, and the minimum analysis workload can be realised. An oil depot in the east oil field of China has been taken as an application case for the above method to provide a scientific basis for improving system exergy efficiency.
