Abstract: The present paper analyses the effects of entropy generation in Magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flow over a permeable stretching sheet embedded in a porous medium in the presence of viscous dissipation. Analytical solutions of the momentum and the energy equations are obtained in terms of Kummer's function using suitable transformations. The velocity and temperature profiles are obtained for various parameters, and are utilised to compute the entropy generation number Ns and the Bejan number Be. The influences of various physical parameters on the entropy generation number and the Bejan number are depicted through graphs which are discussed qualitatively.

Keywords: boundary layer flow; confluent hypergeometric function; stretching sheet; viscous dissipation; entropy generation; magnetohydrodynamics; MHD flow; permeable sheet; temperature profile; velocity profile.
